Introduction - to Spiritual Chat 36

Bismillahir-Rahmanir-Rahim. In the name of God, the Most Merciful, the Most Compassionate. Al-salam 'alaykum wa-rahmat Allah wa-barakatuhu kulluhu. Wa 'alaykum al-salam wa-rahmat Allah wa-barakatuhu kulluhu. May all the peace, the beneficence, and the blessing of God be upon all of us.  May God help us all.

Here is the first in a series of beautiful spiritual chats between our brothers Muhammad, or Muhammad786, and Shaikh Muhaiyaddeen (Louie Beutler), or
MuhaiyaddeenLB
, that occurred from January 27, 2003, to the present, March 3, 2004, for your reading enjoyment.  Thank you.

We have given this Spiritual Chat the title, "Becoming Truly Successful In Our Life",
because it started a beautiful set of sharings, of coming together at the feet of our Father,
Shaikh Muhammad Rahim Bawa Muhaiyaddeen (may God be pleased with Him), and of God within Him, that has truly moved the lives of these two brothers toward true success, by solidifying for both of them the true meaning of the Shaikh-Disciple Relationship described by His Holiness, when He told us,

"If two of you come together in My Name, I will be there."

We have organized this Web Page into several versions of the same Spiritual Chat, to help in our sharing of it, as well as in our study of it, our study of what has been given to us in each of these wonderful experiences, while sitting at the feet of Bawa Muhaiyaddeen (may God be pleased with Him), and of God within Him.

Therefore, we have come up with an Original Version, and an Outline & Summary Version, as well as a separate Summary of the Chat, for all of the chats.  This is the standard package of information that we plan to provided for each Spiritual Chat Web Page.

And for some of the more involved chats we may also add an Expanded Version of the chat, as well as a List of Related Material, that provide points or Links to other relate material, and a Table of Contents, to help provide easy access to all of these pieces.

For more general information about our Spiritual Chats, see "About Spiritual Chats" which you can access from the "Home Page - Spiritual Chats", and for material specific to one Spiritual Chat, if some is available, click on the "About" for that Spiritual Chat, like on "About Spiritual Chat 36" for this chat, which you can access either here or at the top of the page.

My love you (anbu), my dearest loving brothers and sisters, Shaikh Muhaiyaddeen (Louie Beutler).

MuhaiyaddeenLB:

Bismillahir-Rahmanir-Rahim.  In the name of God, the Most Merciful, the Most Compassionate. Al-salam 'alaykum, my dearest loving brother Muhammad.  My love you (anbu) - Shaikh Muhaiyaddeen (Louie Beutler).

Muhammad786:

My love you brother Shaikh Muhaiyaddeen. I am glad that you "Instant Messaged" (IM'ed) me. I miss speaking to you. You are always in my heart but I miss the in person interaction. How are you these days? I am very busy with school work, etc. It is good to hear from you.

MuhaiyaddeenLB:

Al-hamdu lillah. Allahu Akbar. Thanks be to God, and to our Father, Shaikh Muhammad Rahim Bawa Muhaiyaddeen (may God be pleased with Him) we are more than fine.  Al-hamdu lillah. Allahu Akbar.  It is good that you are busy at school work.  That is as it should be.

Please try to come over to see your brother as soon as you can, there are so many wonderful wisdom points that Bawa has opened in my heart since our last sharing, and a great deal of additional clarity about the wisdom points that we have shared in the past. Al-hamdu lillah. Allahu Akbar.

How is your family?  God willing we are sure everything is more than fine. Please give them my love and salams.  Please tell them that they are always in my prayers and that Shaikh Muhaiyaddeen (Louie Beutler) loves them very, very much.  Al-hamdu lillah. Allahu Akbar.

Muhammad786:

Please excuse me. I forgot something. Wa-alaykum al-salam wa-rahmat Allahu wa-barakatuhu  kulluhu (may all the peace, the beneficence, and the blessing of god be upon you also).

MuhaiyaddeenLB:

Al-hamdu lillah.  Allahu Akbar.  Good brother.

Muhammad786:

My heart is glad that you are well. Yes, thanks be to God and to our Father, Shaikh Muhammad Rahim Bawa Muhaiyaddeen (may Allah be pleased with Him).

Thank you for the invitation. I will indeed come to visit you as soon as I am able. In sha-Allah it will be very soon. I know that we both benefit greatly when we come together to communicate and share together.

I know that a lot of work is being done on me at work/school. This is much harder than any other job that I have done before. I believe that I could not have handled this job before now, but In sha-Allah He has made is possible for me to survive the work at this time.

At this point it is still a matter of survival and not really of teaching but God willing that time is coming. The experience has certainly been humbling and humiliating and educational. I know that my tolerance for, what? abuse? No that's not quite it but something like that, has increased. Let's just say that my tolerance for much has increased, In sha-Allah.

MuhaiyaddeenLB:

Bismillahir-Rahmanir-Rahim. Al-hamdu lillah.  Allahu Akbar. What a wonderful wisdom point, my dearest loving brother, that is the path, not getting ready for the path.

Your comment,

"At this point it is still a matter of survival and not really of teaching but God
willing that time is coming", is precious.

Because for this child, the matter of "survival" is the real teaching, learning to survive by depending on God, on the gift of God for our age, which is our Father, Shaikh Muhammad Rahim Bawa Muhaiyaddeen (may God be pleased with Him), by becoming One with our Shaikh within us, and with God within Him. This is the learning, my dearest loving brother Muhammad .  Al-hamdu lillah. Allahu Akbar.

Muhammad786:

Bismillahir-Rahmanir-Rahim. Al-hamdu lillah.  Allahu Akbar. Yes, you are correct in that, my brother. It is only the Shaikh who can conduct our lives as they need to be conducted.

Our purpose is to die and disappear within Him and His purpose is to bring us to the state where we are able to die and disappear within Him. In sha-Allah As God wills, not as we will.

MuhaiyaddeenLB:

Al-hamdu lillah. Allahu Akbar.  What a beautiful way to say it, my dearest loving brother.  Your recent training on this new stage of drama for your life ("work/school" as you call it) has certainly brought you to a wonderful level of clarity about what is truly important in our life, and the way we become successful in our life.

For as Bawa teaches us,

"The Sufi is One who settles into stillness through the realization that
          everything is perfect."

Muhammad786:

Bismillahir-Rahmanir-Rahim. Yes, that is a good thing to remember. It is sometimes hard to remember that everything is perfect when things are just not going the way that we "know" that they should be going.

The grace is in being able to step back and realize that we don't really know what should be going on at any given time because we don't have the Wisdom to see what only Wisdom can see. Which is what IS really going on.

What a grace to be able to hand the situation over to Bawa and say,

"Oh Bawa, you are the One who knows the right and the wrong here. You know
the reality and the illusion. You know the truth and the falsehood. You MUST
come and be the one to deal with this situation and give everyone what they
          need."

"You are the one who knows what we all need and it is only You who can give us
all what we need. Let me move to the back and You must come forward and do
what needs to be done here."

Ameen, Ameen, Ya Rabbil-Alameen.

MuhaiyaddeenLB:

Al-hamdu lillah. Allahu Akbar.  And He will most certainly do that, He will must certainly do this divine work within us, as you say it, my dearest loving brother,

"His purpose is to bring us to the state where we are able to die and disappear
          within Him".

He will most certainly do this, if we keep asking Him to do it, if we keep telling Him to do it, if we keep using His words to get Him to do it, as He is always telling God to do it, throughout His life and teaching, and we must do this telling, this asking, this pleading, in the context of everything that He places before us, which is everything that comes before us.

This is the  path, this is the teaching, this is how we survive in this world successfully, always pushing Him to do more, always asking Him to do to us what He is always asking God to do to Him.  Then we become One and there is just One asking, One telling, One pleading.  Al-hamdu lillah. Allahu Akbar.

Muhammad786:

Al-hamdu lillah. Allahu Akbar. May it be so. May it be so. May it be so. In the name of God the most Merciful and the most Compassionate. May it be so in our lives in this world and in the next world and in all the twice nine equals eighteen thousand universes. Ameen, Ameen, Ya Rabbil-Alameen.

MuhaiyaddeenLB:

Al-hamdu lillah. Allahu Akbar.  This is why Bawa Muhaiyaddeen (may God be pleased with Him) teaches us, in the beautiful "Forward" to the beautiful wisdom book,
"The Pearl of Wisdom", at the bottom of page 6,

"Forget yourself.  Speak and lose yourself.  Talking alone with intensity, say,
'He is One'.  Your soul will elevate itself."

In this way, we must make His words our words, His intention our intention, and His understanding, His clarity, His qualities, our understanding, our clarity, our qualities.  Then we will become successful in our life. This is using God to get to God.  Al-hamdu lillah. Allahu Akbar.

MuhaiyaddeenLB:

Al-hamdu lillah. Allahu Akbar.  Please explain your reference to "and in all the twice nine equals eighteen thousand universes".  This is a new saying for your brother, and we would like to know more, my dearest loving brother, Muhammad.  Al-hamdu lillah. Allahu Akbar.

Muhammad786:

This comes from one of the characters in one of Bawa's books, I believe that it is "Maya Veeram". If I remember correctly he is a bit of a joker and he mentions something about the twice nine equals eighteen thousand universes. 2 x 9 = 18 or 2 x 9000 = 18,000

This expression stuck with me and I use it sometimes when I am exasperated with my daughter. For example,

"You are the most troublesome child in all the twice nine equals eighteen
          thousand universes."

MuhaiyaddeenLB:

Al-hamdu lillah. Allahu Akbar.  Thank you.  That is precious, especially your example of how you use it with your daughter.  Al-hamdu lillah. Allahu Akbar.

Here is another quote from "The Pearl of Wisdom" book, which is the "Conclusion" on page 141.  It has really helped me a lot recently, and follows for your consideration.  It is about the importance of reading and sharing this book, always doing it with our Father, always reading in it His presence within us, and in the presence of God within Him, which we can always do by simple inviting Him into our presence before we read it, by saying the word "Bawa".  Al-hamdu lillah. Allahu Akbar.

"My Son, if you assimilate each sweet work in this book, "Guru Mani", if you
absorb each word individually, if you enshrine it in your mind and savor it, you
will not only gain success, stability, and happiness in your worldly life, but will
enjoy a reciprocative bliss among your fellow people."

"Those who assimilate this "Guru Mani" will not only derive boundless
happiness, but will also achieve high and exalted bliss when they impart it to
          others."

"Each time he does so, his wealth will increase and never diminish. Amen."

Muhammad786:

Al-hamdu lillah. Allahu Akbar. Thank you for the lovely reminder, my brother, of our Father's words of Wisdom. It is good that you remind me of "Guru Mani" since it has been too long since We last read in it. I must get back to my old habit of reading some of Bawa's book every day.

As you say by first inviting Him to come and be the One who reads and the One who understands what is read, and me being the one who sits in his lap in a state of immersion in the bliss that is our Father, Shaikh Muhammad Rahim Bawa Muhaiyaddeen (may God be pleased with Him).

MuhaiyaddeenLB:

Al-hamdu lillah. Allahu Akbar.  And the same is true for your work on your latest stage of drama, your "work/school", invite Him to be present, and for God within Him to be present, and for you to be present within Them.  Then the "Three of Us" is present within the "Three of God" within us.

Then the - Disciple, the Shaikh, and God - is present within - Ya Allah, Ya Rasul, Ya Muhaiyaddeen, allowing the "Three of Us" to become One within us.

Allowing the Triple Flame of God within us to again become One within us, completing in this way why we are here, why we were born, which is to "reveal God" within us, by first revealing True Man within the Creation of God within us, which is the Oneness of God and His Creation.

So True Man within us can reveal God within the Creation of True Man within us, which is the Oneness of True Man and His Creation within us, realizing that the Creation of God is this earth world, the dunya, that we have come to, and the Creation of True Man is the next world, akhirah, that we must next visit, or even better, that we must next become.

Then we will find peace in our life, because we are allowing God to complete what He has already started within us.  Al-hamdu lillah. Allahu Akbar. This is one meaning on one level of what we shared earlier from the life and teaching of our Father, Shaikh Muhammad Rahim Bawa Muhaiyaddeen (may God be pleased with Him), of,

"Settling into stillness through the realization that everything is perfect."

Al-hamdu lillah. Allahu Akbar.  My love you.  Enough?

Muhammad786:

Al-hamdu lillah. Allahu Akbar. Enough for now, my precious, dear brother. There is much to reflect on in what you just said and I believe that this is my duty now. To reflect on this and to make it more and more the reason for my life. Thank you so much for these loving words of Wisdom.

May God bless us all. May He bring us closer and ever closer to that state of unity within our Father, Shaikh Muhammad Rahim Bawa Muhaiyaddeen (may God be pleased with Him). May He bring you and me together also in person if it be His will to do so. Meechum, Meechum, Meechum Anbu my brother, Shaikh Muhaiyaddeen.

MuhaiyaddeenLB:

Al-hamdu lillah. Allahu Akbar.  May all the peace, the beneficence, and the blessing of God be upon us all.  May God help us all.

My love you (anbu), my dearest loving brother Muhammad .  You are a very, very good child of Bawa Muhaiyaddeen (may God be pleased with Him), as is this child.  May we never forget this truth of our lives.

Please give my love and salams to your wife and to your children.  Please tell them that Shaikh Muhaiyaddeen (Louie Beutler) loves them very, very much, and that they are always in my prayers.

Also, please share this sharing with them.  Please do this "Heart's Work".  It is very, very important to do this.  For only then will what we have shared become truly ours, only in our sharing it does it truly move into our hearts.

For as Bawa told one of the children who asked Him how they could help Bawa, Bawa said,

"Go help my children. That is the best way to help Me."

My love you (anbu) - Shaikh Muhaiyaddeen (Louie Beutler).
